Where writing
becomes a
practiced skill
Since 2015, we have been running online creative writing sessions for learners across Ukraine — structured, instructor-led, and built around how people actually improve at writing.
Our story
How the platform was built
StudyCasein started as a small group of writing instructors who noticed that most online courses treat writing as theory — definitions, rules, and quizzes — rather than actual practice. The early sessions were small: 6 to 8 participants writing, sharing, and getting direct feedback in real time. That format still runs today.
The platform grew because the approach held. Learners who struggled with fiction structure after reading about it for months would make measurable progress within 4 to 6 live sessions. Having an instructor respond to your specific draft changes the feedback loop entirely.
Individual sessions were added after learners started asking for time outside the group format — some needed to work on longer manuscripts, others had schedules that didn't fit fixed cohorts. Both formats now run in parallel, with instructors who specialize in specific genres.

Passive consumption of material
Most writing courses are structured as video lectures followed by written exercises you submit and wait on. Feedback, when it arrives, is often generic and delayed by several days.
- Pre-recorded content, no live interaction
- Feedback cycles measured in days, not hours
- No adjustment to your specific writing problems
- One fixed path regardless of genre or level
Active writing with immediate response
Sessions are live and synchronous. An instructor reads your work, asks questions, and adjusts the direction of the session based on what you bring. Group sessions include peer response alongside instructor commentary.
- Live sessions with real-time instructor feedback
- Peer response in group formats, 6–12 participants
- Individual paths for manuscript or project work
- Genre-specific instructors across 4 writing areas
